How much practice before a real model??

How much practice before a real model??

Practicing the craft is crucial to any new Permanent make-up or microblading artist. But how do we know if we have had enough practice time before we feel confident enough to work on real skin??

Even if we practice a thousand fake skins, at the end of the day, the real practice comes from doing the actual work, on real skin

However, you should definitely get some type of practice & training in before doing it on a real person because at the end of the day, it is somebody's face after all.

Many professionals have confessed to doing hundreds if not thousands of practice brows before moving up to real skin & that is because we want to make sure the machine technique is down, the hand & wrist form is comfortable, & the list goes on. However, nothing will compare to real skin other than the actual thing.

Once you have practiced enough days on fake skin, it is time to move on to real skin.

  1. Choose your model (preferably somebody you know & trust)
  2. Make sure to follow all health guidelines - cleanliness is important
  3. Take your time, pick a lighter pigment (just in case you need to cover up)
  4. Take many before/after photos so you can learn from them

Most importantly, remember that less is more in this case.

How do I know if PMU is the right career for me?

How do I know if PMU is the right career for me?

As people, we seldom ask ourselves if the chosen career is the right one for us. How can you know for sure that Permanent Make-Up is the end all be all career for YOU?

Ask yourself these following questions:

1. Are you willing to deal with many clients from all over the world & different ages?

2. Can you put in the hours for training, education, & self-discipline to become an expert in this field?

3. Can you work with blood or do you get nauseous with bodily fluids?

4. Can you put up with an industry that is ever-changing & will always evolve no matter the circumstances?

If the above questions doesn't scare you too much & you are mostly excited to change someone's life with the power of permanent make up & microblading, then I would safely assume that permanent make up is in fact, the right career for you!
